सही पोषण बच्चों को सही आहार जिसमे, विविधता, गुणवत्ता, पोष्टिक,घर का साफ, सफाई केसाथ बना आहार शामिल हो से प्राप्त होता है। बच्चों के जनम के तुरंत बाद केवल स्तनपान कराना,उनके सही मानसिक और शारीरिक विकास के लिए अत्यन्त जरूरी है। स्तनपान नहीं कराने की मानसिकता को सबसे पहले बदलने की जरूरत है। इसमे परिवार के प्रत्येक सदस्य को स्तनपान की महत्ता को समझनी होगी तभी नवजात को मां की दूध की प्राप्ति होगी। परिवार जागरूक होगा तो समाज जागरूक होगा।जिससे सही पोषण देश रोशन होगा। स्वस्थ भारत का निर्माण होगा।

भोजन बच्चे की उम्र के लिए अनुसार होना चाहिए। विशेषज्ञों का सुझाव है कि आपको छह महीने की आयु से पहले ठोस भोजन शुरू नहीं करना चाहिए। इसके बाद धीरे-धीरे अर्ध-ठोस भोजन को उसके आहार में शामिल करना चाहिए ।
